Bollywood actress, Priyanka Chopra was born in Jamshedpur, India on July 18, 1982. Her nick name is Mithu or Mimi, but school mates called her ‘Sunshine’. She is the daughter of Dr. Madhu Chopra and Dr. Ashok Chopra. Her father has been a surgeon and commissioner officer in the Indian Army Medical Corporation. Her mother is a gynecologist and does practices at Kasturi Polyclinic, Andheri, Mumbai.Her maternal grandfather- Manhar Krishna Akhouri and maternal grandmother- Madhu Jyotsana Akhauri. She grew up in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.
Priyanka Chopra has completed her studies from La Martiniere Girls College in Lucknow, and prepared herself for further study in USA, she has studied for short term at Maria Goretti College in Bareilly and went to Boston for further studies. Her aim has been to become a Criminal Psychologist and a Software Engineer. After completing her studies, she came back to India, she received a call to participate in the Miss India contest. Her parents allowed her to participate in this contest. She won the crown of Miss India (2000).
Priyanka Chopra is very beautiful, confident, intelligent, laborious and talented girl. Her height is five feet and eight inches. Her hobbies are listening music, dancing, writing dairy, poetry and short stories. She likes to read biographies. She has worked in many social welfare programmes. She is the member of support group for the thalassaemic children in Uttar Pradesh, India.

Priyanka Chopra has won many Film fare Awards like Best Debut for Andaaz and as Best actress in negative role in Aitraaz. She has also received nomination for Best actress in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi . In 2004, she won the Star Screen Awards as Best actress in negative role for Aitraaz.
Priyanka Chopra likes the actors Kishore Kumar and Mel Gibson. Her favorite dishes are Makki Ki Roti and Sarson Ka Saag. She likes to read Sidney Sheldon’s-Tell me your Dreams and Shakespeare’s Romeo Juliet. In her free times, she likes to watch the movies like Pretty Woman and Walk in the Clouds.
