English Skipper, Eoin Morgan admitted that the result of the World Cup final was not fair and revealed that it was hard for the winning team as well to accept the decision. New Zealand Skipper, Kane Williamson won the toss and elected to bat first in the match that ended with a tie as both the teams scored 241 runs at the end of 50 overs. In the super over, the teams once again scored identical runs, which resulted it in a tie. However, as the hosts scored more boundaries than New Zealand in the game, they claimed the title of the World Cup 2019 tournament at Lord’s.

"I don't think it's fair to have a result like that when there's very little between the sides. I'm black and white. I'm normally going: 'I know. I was there, that happened.' [But] I can't stick my finger on where the game was won and lost. I'm not sure winning it makes it any easier. It would be more difficult to lose, of course," Skipper, Eoin Morgan said to The Times.

However, despite the defeat in the Final, New Zealand has been highly appreciated amongst the fans and the cricket fraternity for their gracious manner in which they handled the loss. Eoin also revealed that he spoke to the New Zealand Skipper over the last couple of days on numerous occasions and said that neither of them has come up with a rational explanation regarding the results of the match. Like me, he can't get his head around everything," added Eoin Morgan.
