England’s skipper, Eoin Morgan wishes the team to be as consistent as New Zealand
Despite emerging victorious in the World Cup final and claiming the title, the English skipper says that they are still new comers as a team and they aspire to be as consistent as New Zealand.
Eoin Morgan led England cricket team won the ICC World Cup 2019 title on Sunday, July 14 on the basis of scoring more boundaries in the game. However, despite being the World Cup winners, the skipper praised the Black Caps and said that they have been incredible and are a hugely admirable team in the tournament. “The fight New Zealand show and the fact they have done it for an extremely long time. We are only new comers to this and we want to be as consistent as them come the next World Cup,” Morgan added.
Morgan also mentioned that this victory in the final is the result of the hard work put in from the past four years. He said that the planning, hard work, dedication, commitment and the little bit of luck of Sunday really helped the team get over the line.
When asked about his captaincy in the next World Cup, Morgan mentioned that four years is a long time and he is not sure if he’ll be in the team at that time. “Four years is a long time away. I think the big question I will have to answer is will I be there in the team in four years, will I be good enough?” Morgan added. He also said that the guys in the team are improving very rapidly and he is not sure if he’ll be able to keep up with them.
