Dr Romantic 2's Lee Sung Kyung REVEALS she chooses her thoughts in a comfortable direction to overcome trauma
Dr Romantic 2's leading lady Lee Sung Kyung revealed how she portrayed a trauma-affected character in Dr Romantic 2 and her personal coping-mechanism. Read on to find out details.
Lee Sung Kyung is basking in the success of Dr. Romantic 2, the second instalment of the Dr. Romantic Kim franchise. She revealed some interesting aspects about her character Dr. Cha Eun Jae, her personal coping mechanism when dealing with traumatic situations and her crackling chemistry with co-star Ahn Hyo Seop. Dr. Romantic 2 is a medical-romance drama with Han Suk Kyu, Lee Sung Kyung and Ahn Hyo Seop in lead roles.
Lee Sung Kyung portrayed Dr Cha Eun Jae, who is a second-year cardiothoracic surgery fellow. She is passionate about the profession, but cannot bear to do surgery without vomiting or passing out when she takes medicine to overcome her past trauma. In a recent interview to Star News via Soompi, Lee Sung Kyung was asked whether she's personally experienced any trauma or nervousness and how did she overcome that. The talented actress revealed that she has experienced quite a few difficult situations in life but she's recovering well. She expressed, "Rather than feeling impatient or trying to overcome it with my own strength, I take a step back and put it down, accept it, and choose the direction of my thoughts in a comfortable way." She also experienced gratitude for people and her immediate environment and confessed that she feels lucky that her energies match well with her surroundings.
Lee Sung Kyung also mentioned her equation with co-star Ahn Hyo Seop was awkward initially, but they grew more comfortable with time just like their characters Dr. Cha Eun Jae and Dr. So Woo Jin at Doldam Hospital. At the 2020 Asia Artist Awards, Lee Sung Kyung won the Best Actor award along with her Dr. Romantic 2 co-star Ahn Hyo Seop.
