Controversies, changes in cast, cat fights, release on Heroine's birthday and the very interesting premise of the plot has made Heroine one of the most awaited movies in recent times.

While Director Madhur Bhandarkar has high hopes that the audience will react positively to the movie's plot and performance of Kareena and other actors, he is a lot more confident that the movie will end up recovering its costs and making a profit.

Speaking to IANS, Madhur pointed out that unlike other big budget productions, Heroine is made on a relatively smaller budget of Rs. 22 – 23 crores. Add marketing and promotion expenses, he said, and the total budget does not exceed Rs. 32 crores.

By releasing the movie across 2300-2400 screens all over the country and by ensuring the hype surrounding the movie will result in good satellite rights, Madhur has ensured that chances of the movie losing money are slim.

Of course, Heroine, starring Kareena Kapoor, Randeep Hooda and Arjun Rampal, has raised a lot of expectations and mere recovery of the money invested will not impress fans and critics.
