What’s your verdict on “Khoobsurat”? Does Sonam nail the character?
Sonam Kapoor has been appreciated by critics and audiences alike for her performance in her recent release “Khoobsurat”. The actress stepped in the shoes of Rekha in the movie, which is a remake of the 1980 superhit “Khubsoorat” featuring the veteran actress.
Sonam plays a Delhi-based physiotherapist Milli who comes to treat the Maharaja of Sambhalgarh. She not only wears colourful clothes but has no control on her mouth too. She says, “Jo dil mein hai woh zabaan pe hai”, as she does not want to have to any regrets when she gets old.
I feel, in the movie, Sonam represented what every girl wants to be, i.e. just be herself. Milli was not carefree, she did care for her parents, her patients and people she loved, but she did not care about the world or rather what people will say. She was just enjoying life on her own terms and did not want to change for anyone. So I think it is right to say that Sonam’s character in the movie is how every girl wants to be.
The actress has done an outstanding job in the movie. She will keep you hooked to your seats with her funny antics. And even with those rainbow coloured attires, she looked fabulous.
But enough of my thoughts on the movie. Tell me what is your verdict on Sonam’s performance.
