What Happened?
The simple friendship of Anjali & Rahul turned into something more down the road..
'Hum dil De Chuke Sanam' showed a more realistic take on love and ultimately a woman learns on her own the difference between infatuation and true love
'Hum Aapke Hain Kaun' was all about falling in love without anyone else knowing about it (Something we've all gone through! and it was just a cute movie all together)
Hum Saath Saath Hain showed us how to respect our fam just like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham did.
I think the point I'm trying to make is no longer are our movies based on the values with which we grew up or take place in a traditional setting... None of the movies are even made in India!... Billu Barber had some form of REALISTIC indian setting (esp with the story of billu the barber) and Welcome to Sajjanpur! Which shows us that IT IS possible to make a movie like that! Yet....Movie makers seem to going abroad and I often wonder if I was sitting in India I would find most of the movies that are out so unrealistic!...First of all women cant wear half the things the actresses wear in Miami or New York in these movies! And not only that our movies just dont seem to stay true to what we used to LOVE and ENJOY watching!... I mean there's a reason why our soap operas are so popular so its not even that the indian audiences REJECTS family movies or is too modern now!... I am appreciative of movies like Ghajini and TZP and JA cuz they're real movies and deal with real issues and yet make an entertainment movie but IDK about you all but I miss real SIMPILISTIC cinema!
But What do you guys think? Do you think it's in the eye of the beholder and that good movies are being made and I'm being just too critical? ..
