Sonam Ranbir, were they in love?

I always thought that they ranbir and sonam were seeing each other during saawariya. But in the recent stardust magazine i read sonam saying she was never in love with ranbir and he is not her type of guys. She likes guys who are wild and like to take chances.
She also claims ranbir deepika were seeing each other during the making of saawariya.
But the photos during the saawariya clearly show that ranbir and sonam were quite a couple. And i also think they share a great chemistry.
I am not sure if this is the grapes gone sour thing, but i would love to see ranbir sonam together on screen again.They look very good together.
