Siddharth Malhotra threatens to sue fans for Rs 10 crores
Siddharth Malhotra, who debut with Karan Johar's 'Student of the Year' last year, has perhaps got a bitter taste of stardom with this particular incident.
Some time back, a couple of Delhi-based students - Shikha and her brother Swapnil, opened a fan site for their idol Siddharth Malhotra. The fans perhaps went a step too far though, when they started sellling merchandise including T-shirts and Mugs, in the stars name. The star, miffed with this, also tried placing a test order to see how things would proceed. However, when nothing arrived, it got to him even more. He then mentioned that it was a form of cheating, and he did not like to support it.
We are guessing things must have gone further out of hand as Siddharth has now slapped the students with a legal notice, suing them for a whopping Rs. 10 crores. Spokesperson of Sidharth says on this matter, "There are over 31 Sidharth Malhotra Fan Clubs online and they're genuine Fan Clubs. The reason a legal notice was sent to the fake website is because it was a pirate and selling merchandise without permission".
Well, well, unfair as it may be, is it not too harsh on the chocolate boy's newly formed image in Bollywood? Or is this the new breed of young stars who don't care?
