Shah Rukh Khan's Saare Jahaan Se Acha to Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika; here are the patriotic films of 2019

Bollywood has a plethora of patriotic movies coming in 2019. Over the years, Bollywood has come up with movies that have told us the untold stories of freedom fighters. As we have entered 2019, we are telling you the patriotic films of the year. 

Batla House

Known for doing patriotic movies like Madras Cafe and Parmanu - The Story Of Pokhran, John Abraham is coming up with one more patriotic film titled Batla House. For the unversed, the movie is based on the infamous Batla House encounter which was officially known as Operation Batla House. The incident happened on September 19, 2008. The same was done against the Indian Mujahideen (IM) terrorists in the Batla House area in Jamia Nagar, Delhi. The movie is directed by Nikkhil Advani and is written by Ritesh Shah. John is playing the role of a policeman named DCP Sanjay Kumar Yadav. The movie is set to release on Independence Day, 2019. 

Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi

Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika - The Queen of Jhansi has been in the news all year round. Kangana will essay the role of one of the most important freedom fighters - Rani Laxmibai. Manikarnika will trace the journey of Rani Laxmibai's fight against British colonizers for the independence of her country and land. The film also stars Jisshu Sengupta, Suresh Oberoi, Atul Kulkarni, and Ankita Lokhande. Kangana has left no stone unturned for Manikarnika and is going miles for putting out the character of Rani Jhansi on the big screen.

Uri 

For Vicky Kaushal, 2018 has been a lucky one on the professional front. Vicky Kaushal, Paresh Rawal and Yami Gautam's movie URI: The Surgical Strike is a film based on the Indian Army's surgical strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan. Uri Attacks changed the whole fate of India and Pakistan. Pakistani terrorists attacked a military base in Uri in Jammu and Kashmir and we lost 19 soldiers. The movie brings all of that alive on the big screen. This one would surely be one must watch for 2019. 

Kesari

Akshay Kumar starrer Kesari is one of the most anticipated films of 2019. The film is produced by Karan Johar under his home banner Dharma Productions. Akshay will be seen playing the role of a military commander of 21 Sikh soldiers named Havaldar Ishar Singh who fought against thousands of Afghani invaders. Talking about Kesari, Akshay had earlier stated, "It is not that I will do only this kind of film. I am doing a war film called Kesari, it is for the first time that I am doing a war film, it is new for me. So I am very excited about it."

Mission Mangal

Akshay Kumar has been tagged as the new age Bharat Kumar. He is coming up with Mission Mangal this year. It is being touted as India's first space film. The film also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sharman Joshi, Kirti Kulhari and Nithya Menen. Not much is revealed about the film, but it will be interesting to see a 5-heroine film. 

Saare Jahaan Se Acha 

Shah Rukh Khan is an actor who never shies away from taking risks. After the release of this film, he will begin working on the Indian astronaut Rakesh Sharma biopic. The film is tentatively titled Saare Jahan Se Acha. For the role, the actor will have to get accustomed to extreme conditions, which astronauts often face in space. We are excited about this one! 

Vikram Batra Biopic

Sidharth Malhotra is all set to play the role of Kargil martyr Vikram Batra in the latter’s biopic. Captain Batra sacrificed his life during the Kargil War (1999).
