Sanju Movie Review: Vicky Kaushal steals the show with his stellar act as Sanjay Dutt's best friend
Ranbir Kapoor's Sanju has hit the screens and has opened to positive reviews. We want to specially mention that Vicky Kaushal shines out in the movie and has done a great job.
SANJU! SANJU! SANJU!
Yes, the movie has finally hit the screens. No doubt, Ranbir Kapoor has done a great job, but it was one more actor in the movie who has done a commendable job. We are talking about Vicky Kaushal or call him Kamlesh - Sanjay Dutt's best friend.
No one knew who is Kamlesh and what role did he play in Dutt's life - no NEWSPAPER articles and no records. Playing a character that doesn't have any reference is no cakewalk for any actor - but Vicky has gone out and out to give his best foot forward for his role in the movie.
While sitting in the theatre, we could hear people applauding Vicky's act. Not just the common janta, celebs are also appreciating Vicky's act. The actor's sequences with Ranbir Kapoor add to the whole vision of Rajkumar Hirani and how he wanted the character to be seen onscreen.
As Dutt's friend and confidante in the film, Vicky has delivered one of his career-defining performance. He is Gujarati in the film and has picked up the accent pretty well and you would love the funny lines he says in the movie.
Talking about his role in the movie, he had earlier said, "The story captures the 35-year journey of Sanjay Dutt. So it starts from when Rocky released, Sanjay was 22, and my character’s age was 20. I had to lose weight to look like a lean young Gujarati guy to an aged man of the present time. I went through a huge physical transformation."
In Rajkumar style, we have a message for Vicky Kaushal - Sirjee, tussi great ho...but here the 'tohfa' is the appreciation.
