Sanju: Here are box-office records broken by this Ranbir Kapoor starrer
Ranbir Kapoor's movie Sanju released on Friday and earned a massive Rs 34 crore nett approx on the first day. The movie has garnered the highest opening day of 2018, beating Avengers: Infinity War and Salman Khan's Race 3.
Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju is all set to break box-office records as the days go by.
The movie, which chronicles the colourfully controversial life of Sanjay Dutt, released yesterday. Before Sanju, Avengers: Infinity War was sitting high on top as the highest opening day of 2018 (Rs 30.75 crore nett approx). In terms of a Bollywood film, it was Salman Khan starrer Race 3 which registered Rs 27.69 crore nett approx.
However, Sanju has raced ahead of both these films as it collected Rs 34 crore nett approx on Day 1, according to Box Office India. Officially, Sanju now holds the crown for the highest opening day of 2018.
When it comes to highest opening day collections for a Ranbir Kapoor film, it was Besharam which held the record with Rs 20 crore nett approx followed by Ae Dil Ae Mushkil which earned Rs 13.25 crore on Day 1. Sanju breezes past Besharam at Rs 34 crore nett approx.
The opening day collections of Sanju makes it the highest ever for a social drama beating the likes of Aamir Khan starrer Dangal which procured Rs 29 crore on Day 1.
