Republic Day 2019: Anupam Kher to Nawazuddin Siddiqui, celebs who played political leaders aptly

Like every year, grand Republic Day celebrations will be held at New Delhi's India Gate on January 26th, 2019. The country will come together to celebrate this one day no matter which caste, creed or religion. Also, when it comes to patriotism, Bollywood has given a lot of classic films that one can watch on the day. The actors surely know how to bring those patriotic sentiments on the big screens. Also, India has a lot of war stories, martyrs, politicians, national achievements that have reclaimed their place at the world stage.

Gandhi, a historical drama film based on the life of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, was released in 1982. The film saw Ben Kingsley in the role of Mahatma Gandhi. 

Vivek Oberoi as Narendra Modi:

The first look of Vivek Oberoi as PM Narendra Modi was released recently and it received a mixed response. Produced by Suresh Oberoi and Sandip Singh, the film is currently in the making. The film is being directed by Omung Kumar. 

Anupam Kher as Manmohan Singh:

Bollywood actor Anupam Kher played the role of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in The Accidental Prime Minister. Akshaye Khanna played the role of Sanjaya Baru, who was the former PM's media advisor. 

Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Bal Thackeray:

Nawazuddin Siddiqui will be seen as Bal Thackeray in the biopic which is all set to release on January 26, 2019. It is one of the much-awaited films of this year. 

Dalip Tahil as Nehru in the biopic, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag:

Dalip Tahil played the role of Pandit Nehru in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Bhag Milkha Bhag.

Neil Nitin Mukesh as Sanjay Gandhi:

Neil Nitin Mukesh played the role of late Sanjay Gandhi in political drama Indu Sarkar, directed by Madhur Bhandarkar. 

Kirti Kulhari as Indira Gandhi:

Kriti Kulhari played the role of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in Madhur Bhandarkar's Indu Sarkar. 

Paresh Rawal as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel:

Ketan Mehta's National Award winning film Sardar - The Iron Man of India which released in 1993 saw Paresh Rawal playing the role of a politician. The film saw Paresh Rawal as Sardar, Benjamin Gilani as Nehru and Annu Kapoor as Gandhi.
