Rekha captured by the late Jagdish Mali
Rekha is one of the finest actresses of Bollywood who has sustained through every thick and thin of the Hindi film industry. Though she panned for her looks very early in her career, she showed the world what a woman she was and went on to become one of the biggest actresses and has been recognised as a sex symbol.
She has featured in over 180 films in career of 40 years, and has not just been part of the mainstream films but also parallel cinema.
Rekha made her acting debut in 1969 as a child actress in Telugu movie ‘Rangula Ratnam’. She then featured in movies like Sawan Bhadon, Namak Haraam, Aap Ki Khatir, Suhaag, Mr. Natwarlal , Khubsoorat , Umrao Jaan,’ Khoon Bhari Maang’, Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love and Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi.
She was honoured with the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 2010.
