Outfit for Gig,Fat, Indian Wedding: Help a Girl Out, would ya??
A Big Hello everyone, long time, no post..but I have been browsing PV frequently. Now I need help from every fashion critic here on PV. My bro's getting hitched in India coming week, and I am taking a week out of my schedule to go join the festivities. Did you say, mubarak ho? Why madam/sir, thank you :-)
As you can see I am in a great mood. Now the big question is what to wear?????? I am one of those girls who has a closet full of amazing outfits and gergeous shoes and not a thing to wear to this big,fat desi wedding. I own no desi outfits!! I guess I have become a kinda firang in my dressing, but dil is still Hindustani.
I decided to give you an idea how I look when I asked about help in dressing me. That picture above is me. There is a cute face behind that smiley face, trust me ;-)
I am asking my fellow PV ladies and PinkvillaBoy to help me find the most beautiful, restrained, gorgeous outfit for me to attend my bro's wedding next week. Time's short and I must go shopping. You can suggest me looks from movies, Bollywood parties, magazines etc. I will see what I can put together this weekend because I am flying on Monday. I am not big on lehngas, though I probably will look good in it. I would love to wear an out an out Bollywood saree (but nothing too garish), none of those bra-net saree combo horror.
Help me out guys, I have no help here as all my family including my sis live in India and my American friends are not much help in this matter, though they tried to help.
Just to let you guys know what I like, I love Sridevi's saree looks, I love the pink saree Rani wears in Hum Tum in the engagement party of Mihir, in fact I love the whole look. I also like what Dia Mirza generally wears.
Can someone put together a Bollywood saree look post for me if it's not too much to ask? I do have ideas about what I want, but it would be nice to hear suggestions in this matter.
Cheers guys, don't be too harsh on me here cuz this is not a 'real' filmy post. For me it can not be more filmy. What do Hindi movies do best? Wedding scenes and outfits. In my case, Pardesi behna flies from New york to India to attend brother's lavish wedding, MUST find something very fashionable wear (a crisis equivalent to those in Devil Wears Prada), who knows how things will go?? May be mere naina kisi aur ki do naino se ladh lainge sadi ki mahol mein ha ha ...
Something tells me I am going to regret this post few hours later. Till then have fashion fun with me.
