Karwa Chauth is one of the most important days for a married woman as far as all the Indian festivities are concerned. On this day, the women fast for their better halves the entire day, without having a single morsel or water. They pray for a happy and healthy life, and today, October 17 is the day it is going to be celebrated this year. The women have to wait until the moon to come out to eat anything, and it begins before dawn, where they eat 'sargi,' which is food sent by the mothers-in-law.

So, since Bollywood has always been one place to hype all the Karwa Chauth celebrations, we thought we would just list down a couple of films that we have seen in the past, and they have taught us a little something about the festivities. These films date back in time, and many of you might feel a heavy dose of nostalgia, or might as well want to go on a binge-watching spree because they are all-time classics.

Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge

Do we even have to tell you why did this one make it to the list? I will never forget the scene, and the chemistry, and all things nice about the Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer. The movie managed to give out major feels, and thereby, also popularized the celebrations.

Baghban

The Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini film still has us all sobbing all throughout it. Everyone in long-distance relationships might be able to relate to this one, because they celebrated the festival on the phone, and if anything, it was a portrayal of the kind of pure love that films narrated stories of back in the day.

Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham

This movie showed what it is like to celebrate Karwa Chauth outside India, and while we saw Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor Khan's romance, on one hand, we also saw the heartfelt conversation between Kajol and Jaya Bachchan's characters on the other. And of course, the movie incorporated two songs during the sequence, making it grandeur.

Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam

Another stupendous example of the Karwa Chauth festivities would be through Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai's song in the movie, Chand Chupa Badal Me. They were an iconic couple back then, they had their romance in perfect place, and of course, we saw such movies start the trend of unmarried girls fasting for their partners.

Hum Apke Hai Koun

Yet another Salman Khan starrer, this one with Madhuri Dixit has us all gushing over them every single time we see the movie. This movie has all the finest works weaved into the cinematography, the music, the acting, and everything else. Both of them made for a heartfelt scene after all.
