Hollywood movies I would like to see in Hindi

Though I am not related to the entertainment industry in anyway, I have always believed that I would do a good job directing a movie with star cast of my choice:-) There would be no cheesy lines, no jumping back and forth between Swiss Alps and Mumbai in a matter of a heartbeat, no glamor doll heroine standing there looking pretty for absolutely no reason what so ever, while still preserving the essence of Bollywood . Thankfully, there are a bunch of new Bollywood directors, who have gone ahead and made some wonderful movies, both immensely watchable and somewhat successful commercially. Wake Up Sid, Rocket Singh, Tere Bin Laden etc come to mind.
Everyone knows that Bollywood steals blatantly from western movies and world music, without bothering about small stuffs such as intellectual property rights and credits.

There are a few Hollywood movies I would like to see made in Hindi, with proper credits and all. Karan Johar take notice ;-)

1. Venus, starring Peter O'Toole.

Somehow I believed I would make this movie one day with yours truly and Dev Anand as the leading star cast, before Dev Anand's death. I know, silly me. I am not a star kid, who is going to launch me?
It is a complex movie, in which O'Toole plays an old actor of yore who is ravaged by cancer. Enter Jessie, a trouble maker and an aspiring model. Their interaction throughout the movie is interesting, heartwarming, heartbreaking and uncomfortable. Now that Dev Saab is gone, I would like to see Amitabh Bachchan and some really talented nineteen/twenty year old, who is NOT a star kid, do this movie together, directed by one of the new young directors who can make this rather depressing subject fun (in an ironic way) and watchable. May be Anushka Sharma will do as Jessie.

2. Something's Gotta Give, starring Jack Nicholson & Diane Keaton

Its a light hearted comedy and you gotta love Jack Nicholson. If you have not seen it already, it is a war of the sexes. Nicholson is a jackass who dates only younger women and Keaton is a successful novelist/playwright who is too afraid to let the hair down. They meet through her daughter who is dating Nicholson, and then one comic incident after another they fall in love.
My cast of choice: Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha, one could only wish ! If not possible, then Zeenat and Amitabh. Zeenat would be wonderful as a society personality/successful writer and AB Sr is just good at anything.

3. How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying: Starring Robert Morse

It is the title of a best selling book from the 50's, has been adapted on screen (1967) and Broadway (many times) and is an absolute delight to watch. The title is pretty self explanatory. If you have access to Netflix, watch it on instant streaming if you have not already. I would love to see a good Hindi version of it starring Ranbir Kapoor. Only that lad can do justice to this goof-ball of a movie.

4. Ghostbusters, starring the lovable Bill Murray

This 80's comedy is a classic. In my opinion, nobody has a better sarcastic comic timing than Bill Murray. If you have not seen this movie, then you are missing something; it's pure gooey, slimy fun. Bill Murray and friends come up with a device to catch ghosts, thus trying to get rid of supernatural presence from New York City, but somehow things backfire and land them in a slimy mess.
I would have loved to see a young Amitabh in it. But I will settle for Akshay Kumar. Irfaan Khan would be my supporting cast of choice along with Vidya Balan as Dana Barret.

5. Le Dîner de Cons, starring Thierry Lhermitte

Though not a Hollywood movie, it is a movie mentioning nonetheless.
Le Diner de Cons is a 1998 French comedy, which can be translated as Dinner for Idiots. A goof ball of a movie in which some smart asses hold weekly dinner where they bring a guest. The condition is the guest has to be as stupid as possible. It is a situation comedy. If made in Hindi, the movie can very well use the talents of Boman Irani, Paresh Rawal and Rajpal Yadav as the "guest".

What do you guys think? Share your thought please.
