2018 proved to be an interesting year for Bollywood. It was the year where content won over the big budget films. Usually, it is the star cast that pulls the audience to the theatres; however, this year proved that it doesn't matter who is a part of the film, people will only love and appreciate it if it makes sense, has a good story and all round performances.

No matter which Khan or Kapoor is a part of the film, the success of the film is no more limited to the superstars starring in it. And this year proved it totally and made way for more content-driven cinema in the coming years. There were films that created a lot of hype, had big stars, looked larger than life and promised entertainment and were made on a big budget, but they failed horribly at the box office and didn't manage to impress the audience.

Check out the biggest flops of 2018:

Race 3

The Race franchise was helmed by Abbas-Mustan and starred Saif Ali Khan as the main lead. However, the third part of the film was directed by Remo D'Souza, and Saif was replaced by Salman Khan. There was a lot of excitment as the other actors included in it were Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Bobby Deol and Daisy Shah. However, the film became a topic of jokes from the trailer itself, and eventually, Race 3 flopped. Even Salman Khan, who is considered as the king of box office badly failed to reach his own record.

Thugs of Hindostan

When there are actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan coming together, one expects stellar performances and magic on the screen. This was the first time Big B and Aamir collaborated and the film didn't work in their favour. Also starring Fatima Sana Shaikh and Katrina Kaif, the lack of sensibility in the story and comparison with the Pirates of Carribean hampered the film's success.

Fanney Khan

The trailer of Fanney Khan starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao created a lot of curiosity because it looked interesting. But the film proved to be unappealing and Ash's glamorous and superstar avatar didn't win any hearts.

Welcome To New York

The film had Karan Johar, Diljit Dosanjh, Sonakshi Sinha and Rana Dagubatti and promised a laughter roar to the audience. Sadly, it barely even made people smile!

Namaste England

Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra reunited after 6 years after Ishaqzaade. They are considered as one of the most stunning couples on-screen. The expectations were higher because the film was directed by Vipul Shah who gave us Namastey London, starring Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif. However, Namaste England didn't create any magic like the first film.
