Movie starts in the villages of India, two babys are born, names vijay (salman khan) and Arjun (saif Ali khan) . Vijay who is from a poor family, and Arjun who is from a wealthy family, and vijays father works for arjuns house, he is like a servant. Vijay and Arjun become good friends, they are more then friends they are like brothers because they both grew up together, they would do everything together go out together, but Arjun would pay for everything because vijay was poor but Arjun did not mind it. Vijay was a bit naughty and wild, he would do the wildest things, but the bad habit he had was he would get into fights a lot and liked the underworld people, they thought they were cool and amazing because they were rich, powerful, and commanding, which vijay liked because vijay wants to be as rich as Arjun, or even more, he wants to be powerful, and also he is commanding to Arjun, vijay was a full time flirt. On the other hand Arjun was a shy, perfect, straight forward person who hated people doing the wrong things, short cut for fast money, basically he hated "Bhai" underworld people, but vijay loved them , he basically wants to be like them when he grows up, but Arjun would say don't do that. Arjun wanted to be a police inspector, and vijay a gangster! As they grew older, arjuns father told him that he would send him to America for further studies, but Arjun wanted to stay in India and become a respectable police officer and the best one, so he said that vijay would go instead of me, which arjuns father agreed because he also loved vijays as much as he did Arjun. 15years later...they are now 25, Arjun who has become a respectably and the best young and dabangg officers in mumbia, and arjun meets a girl who he falls in love with name is sanjanna (kareena kapoor) and vijay who comes to India who has already become a gangster, but he also falls in love with sanjanna's best friend priya ( deepika podukone/priyank chopra) but Arjun does not know that he is a gangster. everything is well for a few weeks, when Arjun feels this change in vijay awkwardness when he is around, also he is always thinking, so Arjun fallows him and keep an eye on him. One day Arjun hears vijay talk with someone, and plans a meeting, so he follows vijay when he goes to meet the guy, once they arive, arjun see him meet the most wanted man in Mumbai and underworld don,( Amir khan).. He tells vijay,not straight forward but in riddles that people meeting with bad people will die, and I feel sorry for people who are with these people, etc... Vijay and priya, go out for dinner but he says that I don't have time for this love whatever you call it, so she gets sad, but she still tries to meet him, so he understands priya that you know what kind of job I am in, I am not allowed to be in relationships, if don sees me he will kill you... One day don does see him with her, and he kills her, but vijay is not sadden he is now free to do what he wants, and his aim is to become a gangster and rule mumbia. Later on arjun catches vijay dealing with some other people from the underworld, when Arjun and sanjanna, went out for lunch, there Arjun sees vijay and he runs and stops both of them, puts the other guy in jail, and talks with vijay, And tells him tell me whatever you know about don because I want to kill that bastard, but vijay is so brainwashed that he does not say anything and tell Arjun to leave him alone, and tells him do whatever you want to do but I'm not telling you anything... Arjun tells him why he wants to capture don, because he killed his family infront of his eyes and he made a promise in the mandir that I will kill don one day and kill the people who are with him..... And Arjun gives a warning to vijay that your life is in danger... Vijay prementally moves where don lives, and they plan a big deal with an American gangster which vijay finds in American when he went to study... Flashback to American and how he becomes a gangster and keep contact with big people... Arjun gets news that vijay is going to nasik for a deal, because someone works with them from the police force... So Arjun goes and starts fighting with vijay, as vijay flews runs away, arjuns shoots him but gets him on his right upper shoulder and leg. But vijays. Manages to get away... vijays one sees Arjun walking with sanajanna, and their daughter, as vijay shoots Arjun sees him but by then vijay already shot arjuns daughter and kills her right on the spot! Climax the big deal day, which the police already finds out about but as soon as the undercover cop tells the location vijays hears him talk to Arjun so vijays kills the undercover. The don and vijays changes location they do the deal and all, but somehow Arjun and his police force finds out and go to the location and starting attacking them, Arjun kills the don, and starts fist fighting vijay, arjun tells him the I will kill you today you killed my daughter, I forget that I once called you a brother, so Arjun kills the 2 most wanted dons in mumbia.. Arjun fulfills his dreams and promise but they lose their daughter..and will never forgive vijay. Vijay becomes wealthy, powerful, and commanding but he dies.
