Did Sonam Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao's recreated version of Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga live up to the original?

Sonam Kapoor and Anil Kapoor are the most adorable father-daughter Bollywood duo, who we have been waiting to see on-screen for the longest time. Finally, we will see them as a reel-life father-daughter duo in Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. Also, starring Juhi Chawla and Rajkummar Rao in pivotal roles, this Shelly Chopra Dhar directorial is the most unexpected love story of 2019. The trailer had us beaming with joy as it tackles a strong subject endearingly.

In the trailer, we got a tease of the title track, which is the recreated version of R D Burman's classic love song Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga from 1942: A Love Story (1994). You can't recreate a classic, especially a Burman track with Udit Narayan's soul-stirring vocals. However, Rochak Kohli did just that with Darshan Raval's vocals. The music video was released today with Sonam and Rajkummar's story as the main focus. But did the recreated version live up to the original?

There were some who did not like Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga's title track and were hoping for something better.
