Bollywood, South Films Releasing This Friday: Manikarnika, Thackeray, Mr Majnu & other films to watch

This Friday is going to be another interesting one for the moviegoers as not one or two but quite a few films are releasing at the box office. 2018 was a great year in terms of entertainment and the same is being expected in the year 2019. Bollywood films Thackeray and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi are going to witness a tough battle at the box office. Both the films are expected to open with good reviews, but only time will tell which movie performs well at the ticket windows.

On the other hand, Akhil Akkineni and Nidhhi Agerwal starrer Telugu film Mr Majnu is also releasing on January 25, 2019. The film is the talk of the town over its promotional strategies. Tamil cinema will see Prabhudheva’s Charlie Chaplin and other, Simba releasing this Friday. Here’s the list of Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam movies that are releasing this week:

Thackeray:  The film is a biopic based on the life Shiv Sena supremo late Bal Thackeray and will see actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui playing the role. The film also stars Amrita Rao as Balasaheb Thackeray's wife Meenatai. 

Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi: Kangana Ranaut starrer 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi' is one of the much awaited films. The film is a historical drama based on the life of Rani Laxmibai and will see TV actress Ankita Lokhande making her Bollywood debut with the film.

Mr Majnu: Starring Akhil Akkineni and Nidhhi Agerwal in lead roles, Mr Majnu has been directed by Venky Atluri. The film is a romantic comedy and will see Akhil in a Casanova role. 

Charlie Chaplin: Starring Prabhudheva, Nikki Galrani, Adah Sharma, the film is a sequel to the 2002 film Charlie Chaplin, which fared well at the box office. It is all set to release this 25th January. 

Simba: Starring Bharath Srinivasan and Premgi Amaren, Simba has been directed by Arvind Sridhar. Here’s the trailer of the film:

Malayalam films like Irupathiyonnaam Noottaandu and Sakalakalashala are also releasing this weekend. Kannada film, Seetharama Kalyana starring Manasa Radhakrishnan and Dharmajan Bolgatty is all set to hit the screens as well.
