Amir Did Not Demand 200 Crores. Govt. Denies Malnutrition Campaign Delay Rumour
The Government denied rumours that Aamir Khan had demanded payment of Rs. 200 crores from the Government for producing short films on malnutrition campaign and that he had compelled the Government to put the project on hold.
A Press Note released on 19th September said that Aamir's was not being paid for his involvement in the Information Education & Communication (IEC) campaign against malnutrition. The Note went on laud and appreciate Aamir's efforts.
A recent report on the highest taxpayers in Bollywood saw a fall in Aamir's tax payments, ostensibly due to the expenses he incurred on Satyameva Jayate. Fans would probably find it difficult to believe that the socially aware actor would actually block a campaign on malnutrition just for money.
However, the Note did not clarify whether the project was indeed delayed and if so, the reasons behind the same.
