Allu Arjun to Vedhika Kumar, South Indian actors and filmmakers who will make their Bollywood debut in 2019

Many South Indian actors have played a significant role in Bollywood. Actors like R Madhavan to Siddharth, Dhanush, Shruti Haasan, Kamal Haasan Suriya, Rana Daggubati and Prakash Raj to name a few have spread their talent wings in Hindi cinema as well. Well, South film industry’s relation with Bollywood and vice versa has been highly successful over the years. The recent example of magnum opus 2.0 that saw B-town star Akshay Kumar’s menacing act and earned him high praises alongside Rajinikanth or the endearing praises Dulquer Salmaan got for his debut in Bollywood with Karwaan.

Well, another year has begun and we are surely looking forward to some of the best cinematic experience with some of the amazing content oriented film. 2019 is going to be another eventful year in the Indian Film Cinema. Let’s take a look at some of the actors and filmmakers from the South who will make their debut in Bollywood this year. Check out the list:

Allu Arjun

Highly speculated to be a part of the much awaited Kapil Dec biopic, Allu Arjun is all set to make his Bollywood debut in this cricket drama of the 83 World Cup. The film also stars Ranveer Singh. However, no official confirmation regarding the same has been made yet. 

Indrajit Lankesh

A multi award winning director, Indrajit Lankesh is helming the Shakeela Biopic, which has Richa Chadha playing the role of the adult film star who became a phenomena in the late 90s in the south film business. The film promises to tell the honest tell of the woman behind the on-screen avatar of Shakeela and her struggles.

Deva Katta

Deva made a cult classic in Telugu cinema, Prasthanam became an unlikely success belonging to the genre of family drama and politics earning him a rave status as a filmmaker. The film was announced for its Hindi remake earlier this year with Sanjay Dutt productions producing the film with actors like Sanjay Dutt, Ali Fazal leading the cast in the remake. The film is being directed by Deva himself who with this makes his Hindi film debut. 

Vedhika Kumar

The actress who is a well-known name in the south film and for her national award-winning period film Paradesi by Bala, will make her Bollywood debut opposite Emraan Hashmi in the film The Body is being directed by Jeethu Jospeh.

Amala Paul

Amala Paul has done an array of successful south films and now will make her debut opposite Arjun Rampal in an untitled film to be directed by Naresh Malhotra. 

Regina Cassandra

Apart from Sonam Kapoor, apparently, Regina Cassandra plays a pivotal role in the upcoming film Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga. Regina has worked in many south films including the acclaimed Maanagaram.

Tony Luke

Malayalam actor Tony Luke will be seen sharing screen space with Taapsee Pannu as her love interest in the upcoming thriller titled Badla. The film will be released in March this year. Tony made his debut in films with Malayalam film Oozham and later found popularity for his role as the main antagonist in Malayalam film Sakhavu.
