Here are 5 similarities between Aamir's Dangal and Salman's Sultan!
Aamir Khan's Dangal trailer is out and it has already created a buzz around social media. The trailer is a sure shot winner and will give you goosebumps. While Aamir is all geared up for his movie, there was another movie in 2016 which caused an uproar and that was Salman Khan's Sultan.
With having similar storylines heavily based on wrestling, we can't help but draw a few similarities between Dangal and Sultan.
Besides the plot, here are 5 other similarities we found in both the movies:
1. The introduction scene
There is a scene in Sultan where Salman is seen riding a scooter and a similar sequence was seen with Aamir in Dangal.
2. Aamir and Salman's before and after look
Salman and Aamir both went through jaw-dropping physical transformations for their roles as wrestlers. While Aamir gained a ton of weight for his older look, he also proved that he was Mr. Perfectionist when he hit the gym and bulked up. On the other hand, Salman initially had a killer body which accurately resembled that of a wrestler and then gained weight only to lose it again and look amazing.
3. Akhada (traditional wrestling ring)
The Akhada shot is very similar in both and will make you whistle, clap and jump off your seats for sure!
4. Strong-driven women characters
In Sultan, Aarfa played by Anushka Sharma was a wrestler herself and was seen as a very strong character and an equal to Salman's character Sultan. In Dangal, Aamir's Mahavir Singh Phogat initially is disappointed that he doesn't have a son, who he could coach for wrestling. But after realizing his daughter's Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat played by Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra's worth, he goes ahead and coaches them. How's that for strong-driven female characters!?
5. Haryanvi accent
Both Salman and Aamir have adapted the Haryanvi accent to perfection.
After these similarities, it's no wonder that the director of Sultan Ali Abbas Zafar wanted to name his film Dangal earlier!
Are you excited to see Dangal?
