Aditya Chopra's Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge has completed 21 years of its release. Nobody could have ever imagined that this film would be an epic even in 2016. This film gave the film fraternity a sizzling jodi, SRK-Kajol. Every dialogue, every scene, every emotion depicted in the movie Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge still reside in our minds and any thing resembling to DDLJ, quickly takes us back to the charm of the film. DDLJ can be rightfully called the Shakespeare of our Hindi film industry as it has been an inspiration for many films.

Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania

Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan's Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania must have reminded all the fans of DDLJ. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, this film was produced by Karan Johar. Everything in the film was quite similar to the setting of Chopra's 1995 film. Remember how Alia and Varun recreated the poster but with a twist?  While the original poster showed Shah Rukh carrying Kajol on his shoulder, in the revamped version we saw Alia doing the same to Varun. Not just this, Alia also proposed Varun in SRK style at the end of the film.

Jab We Met

Jab We Met was a game changer for Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan. The opening scene of the film when Geeta aka Kareena is seen chasing the train shows the DDLJ influence prominently.

Bachna Ae Haseeno

Bachna Ae Haseeno has three love stories. But, the first story which has Minnisha Lamba as Mahi who was out on a Euro trip and wanted to meet her Raj. She meets Raj (Ranbir Kapoor) and falls in love with him just Simran did for Raj in DDLJ while on Euro trip.

Chennai Express

In the opening scene of the film, Deepika Padukone's character is seen chasing a train and you see Rahul aka SRK with his hand out for her. What's more interesting is that the song Tujhe Dekha Toh Yeh Jaana Sanam plays in the background and it's bound to make you nostalgic!

2 States

When Tamilian Brahmin Ananya Swaminathan (Alia Bhatt) falls in love with Punjabi munda Krish Malhotra (Arjun Kapoor), their families were totally against their relationship. The idea of Arjun going to Alia's house and convincing his father-in-law is Raj's style of making Simran's father Chaudhary Baldev Singh (Amrish Puri) understand his love.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani

Scholar Naina! Yeh Chasme ko kaise bhul sakta hun? Naina aka Deepika falls in love with flamboyant guy Ranbir Kapoor and the whole setting is like that of DDLJ. How Ranbir teases Deepika shows the strong influence from SRK-Kajol's film!

Break Ke Baad

A mushy scene between Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone in the film shows the two realizing their love for each other while watching DDLJ.

Heropanti

The whole idea of Bablu (Tiger Shroff) convincing Dimpy (Kriti Sanon) is completely from Aditya Chopra's DDLJ.

Befikre

Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor's Befikre has also taken inspiration from DDLJ. Wondering how? In DDLJ, SRK says 'Agar yeh tujhe pyar karti hai toh yeh palat ke dekhegi … palat … palat' and in Befikre, Ranveer tells Vaani the guy she is staring at will not look back and then she says, ‘Palatne ka way toh 90s mein karte the log… I was checking out his ass’. LOL!
