The actor, who is famous for his action packed avatar in several of his films, has become synonymous with his names. Moreover, the actor has donned the role of a true Indian in many of his films. With his strong character and power-packed dialogues, his films are a must watch during national holidays, celebrated in the nation.

Border

In this multi-starer war film, Sunny played the role of Major Kuldip Singh Chandpuri. The actor's role of a Punjabi soldier is very strong-headed and true patriot and proved that he truly loves his country and will do anything for it. The film was released in the year 1997 and was awarded the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration.

A military officer, who sweeps off a terrorist infiltration attempt of the enemy country, with the help of common people, that's the plot of Maa Tujhhe Salaam. Sunny donned the role of Major Pratap Singh and showed off his patriotism in a true sense.

23rd March 1931: Shaheed

Loosely based on the life and times of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sunny played Chandrashekhar Azad, while his younger brother Bobby Deol played the titular role of Bhagat Singh. The 59-year-old actor's portrayal of Azad was well-received by the audiences and the critics.

The Hero: Love Story of a Spy

Sunny is seen playing the role of Arun Sharma, a RAW agent in the film. His mission in the film was to fight against the terrorists across the border. He even makes his wife, played by Preity Zinta, take up the challenge and become a spy to keep a check on the terrorist activities in Pakistan.

Jaal: The Trap

This 2003 release film saw Tabu playing the role of a terrorist who traps Ajay Kaul played by Sunny. How he escapes this trap and saves other innocent people in the film is an interesting watch.
