R.I.P Brangelina! Take a trip down memory lane of Hollywood's power couple

When news broke out that Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from Brad Pitt yesterday, hearts broke all over the world as Hollywood's beloved couple called it quits! While accusations of substance abuse, anger and Brad's interaction with their kids are doing the rounds, we are yet to get a final confirmation on the reason for their divorce.

As we are now officially living in a world where Brangelina does not exist, here is a timeline on Hollywood's ultimate power couple:

2004-2005: Mr. and Mrs. Smith

Brad was still very much married to F.R.I.E.N.D.S actor Jennifer Aniston when he was paired opposite Angelina for the action-comedy, Mr. and Mrs. Smith. What followed was an extra-marital affair which ended Brad and Jen's marriage for good and that is how Brangelina was born!

2006: Public comment about their relationship through revelation of Angelina's pregnancy

Jolie had adopted her first child, Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt in 2002 and Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt in 2005.

In 2005, Brangelina finally revealed the nature of their relationship when Angelina announced that she was pregnant with Brad's child. Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt was born on May 27, 2006. The first picture of Shiloh was sold to Getty images and the money was given to charity. People and Hello! acquired the North American and British rights to the images $4.1 million and $3.5 million.  

2007: Adoption of Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt

Angelina and Brad adopted Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt, in 2007.

2008: Birth of twins Knox Leon Jolie-Pitt and Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt

It was at the Cannes Film Festival where Angelina announced she was expecting twins. Knox Leon Jolie-Pitt and Vivienne Marcheline were born on July 12, 2008. People and Hello! jointly bought the rights to the twins' first picture for $14 million which is the most expensive celebrity photograph ever taken! The money was donated to the Jolie-Pitt Foundation.

2012: Announcement of engagement

After seven years of dating, the couple announced their engagement in April 2012.

2014: Wedding Bells

Brangelina tied the knot on August 23, 2016, in a private ceremony at their estate Château Miraval in Correns, France. The only guests in attendance were their kids and Angelina's wedding dress was one of it's kind - Versace, white and adorned with her children's artwork.

2016: Divorce

Yesterday, it was revealed that Angelina filed for a divorce from Pitt. The divorce was formally filed on September 19, 2016. The reason being their conflict over their kids, Brad's substance abuse and anger. Brad gave out a statement where he said, "I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids, I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time."
