Apple launched its next batch of iPhones, aka the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus at an event in San Francisco on Wednesday. These two phones are already making a break from the past. The new iPhones boast of an all glass and metal body. The craze is such that it has been trending on all the social media platforms. If you're an Apple fan, you would relate to it. The company revealed an upgraded iPhone that, while aesthetically is similar to the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, has several big differences, including a pressure-sensitive home button, better camera, a faster processor and improved battery life, as well as having no headphone jack.

We list you things to look to forward to in iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus.

No 3.5 mm Jack

One of the most controversial decisions would have been to remove the headphone jack, instead shipping the phone with a pair of Lightning EarPods - which connect thorough charging port and wireless AirPods. The AirPods provide five hours of listening which, with the compact charging case, delivers 24 hours of total battery life. For those of you looking to connect your regular 3.5mm headphones to them, you get a lightning to 3.5mm adapter inside the box. Regular Bluetooth headphones should work fine with the new iPhones though. The AirPods will be available for INR 15,400.

Weather Resistant

A useful addition, in the new iPhones, is the introduction of water and dust resistance, something which has been part of rumour mills for quite some time now. The phones come with IPX67 certificates, which means you can comfortably drop your phone in water, but for a short while. It's something similar to Samsung Galaxy S7, which is also a waterproof phone. So iPhone users, you can now stop worrying about accidentally dropping it in water.

Upgraded Camera

With iPhone 7, you get better camera quality and wider aperture. It is now f1.8 lens and also has a feature of optical image stabilization, which was earlier in iPhone 6 Plus. A 5.5-inch version of the handset has a dual-lens camera. This allows a huge increase in quality when zooming in on a photo, a problem that has plagued Apple for years. The iPhone 7 Plus has two 12MP cameras, one of which is a wide angle lens and the other a telephoto lens that can zoom 2X in high quality. So grab one of two iPhones, and get on clicking pictures. They will also have 7MP FaceTime HD Cameras. The iPhones have always been facing stiff competition from Samsung Galaxy phones and after this new upgrade, we feel iPhones will be a little better off. The biggest takeaway, though, is that Apple has finally ditched the 16GB base variant, and instead started with 32GB as base memory in its new iPhones. These will be available in 32GB, 128GB and 256 memory options.

Better Battery Life

Are you really done and dusted with iPhone? We give you one more reason to cling on to it. These two models will have the longest battery life than any of the models ever. To much surprise, an iPhone 7, on an average, lasts for two hours longer than an iPhone 6s and an hour longer than iPhone 6s Plus. The battery on the iPhone 7 lasts 14 hours when using WiFi and 12 on 4G. The iPhone 7 Plus meanwhile lasts 15 hours on WiFi and 15 on 4G.

A10 Fusion Processor

Both the phones are powered by Apple's next-generation quad-core A10 Fusion processor. Both the phones run Apple's latest and greatest iOS 10 software. "The A10 Fusion's CPU integrates two high-performance cores that run up to two times faster than iPhone 6, and two high-efficiency cores that are capable of running at just one-fifth the power of the high-performance cores. Graphics performance is also more powerful, running up to three times faster than iPhone 6 at as little as half the power," the company said about its new processor. So the processor will let you have all the games on-board and thanks to Apple for getting A10 Fusion Processor to the market.

Colour Options - A matte black and a glossy black is the 'it' thing

A matte black and a glossy black will join silver, gold and rose gold in the colour options for the iPhone. The new shiny jet black finish will be offered exclusively on the 128GB and 256GB models.

So, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus will change the way the smartphones work. And if you don't have an iPhone and you don't have any iPhone.

(P.S : If you want to have all these features especially AirPods, be ready to burn a hole in your pocket.)
