Half Yearly Report: SRK to Shahid, Men Who Stole The Show With Their Stellar Act!
Six months down the line, 2016 has already given us some tough contenders vying for the post of best actor already. From the shades of grey and gay to double role, we have Top 6 actors who won accolades for delivering one of the best performances of their career. Check Out-
Shah Rukh Khan for Fan
Main tera hai re jabra Fan hogaya..... Fan is SRK. His dedication in the film was hard to miss, like seeking redemption post the unworthy role in Dilwale. As Gaurav and Aryan Khanna, seen in double roles, the film was all-boxes tick marked. Despite being outrageous, the film was all about SRK- love him, hate him but it was impossible to ignore him.
Randeep Hooda for Sarbjit
Randeep Hooda was the sole saving grace in Sarbjit, fantastic in every frame. His voice changed over the years, he perfectly looked his part. Mostly shown inside his dark, fetid cell, his hair filthy - Randeep nailed the look and the accent, letting neither overpower him. And, that was the only reason to sit through this sagging saga, ultimately.
Shahid Kapoor for Udta Punjab
After Haider, Shahid pulled out another winner from his kitty - Tommy Singh. The strutting and the thrusting on stage, the tangled hair, the constant flashing of the V sign, the self-absorption, the swearing each nuance was point on. The 'Chitta' factor certainly helped him soar, high, fly....
Fawad Khan for Kapoor & Sons
Reportedly, many biggies refused to essay the role of a homosexual in the film & eventually, Fawad decided to step in. And the critics as well the fans just couldn’t stop raving about Khan - there's a lot more to this actor than good looks and charm. His performance as the ‘perfect’ son with a secret, (of him being gay) stands out of the lot. Fawad showed versatility and vulnerability with equal ease.
Manoj Bajpayee for Aligarh
Manoj’s act as Professor Siras was definitely a class apart. A man whose bewildered fragility is up for examination – Manoj championed his character of an elderly professor who is hounded out of his job and home, because of his sexual orientation. A role essayed with subtlety and compassion.
Akshay Kumar for Airlift
Based on the true story of Indians who were evacuated from Kuwait after the Iraqi invasion in 1990, Akshay Kumar as seen in the role of Ranjit Katyal- the man who was instrumental to successfully helm this rescue operation. Akshay delivered a controlled performance, infusing the suitable amount of patriotism in his character.
