It is common knowledge that the Cannes International Film Festival is the ultimate showcase of glamour, style, glitz and of course beauty. A star-studded extravaganza in every sense of the word, it has over the years seen several members from the Indian film fraternity steal the show and give the global audience a taste of their limitless talents. And now the keenly-awaited event is almost upon us once again. Needless to say, Cannes 2016—which gets underway on May 11—is expected to be no different. However, before the euphoria of this latest edition engulfs the global fraternity let us take a stroll down memory lane and revisit the main highlights of Cannes 2015.
 

Aishwarya Rai Walks The Red Carpet: The 68th edition of the Cannes International Film Festival saw the gorgeous Aishwarya Rai walk the red carpet as she represented a leading brand. For her first walk, the actress chose a green Elie Saab gown while she sported a Ralph and Russo creation for her final appearance. Needless to say, she carried off both looks with effortless ease. Interestingly, as part of the event, Ash also attended sneak peek screening of Jazbaa.

A Powerful Debut: The year 2015 saw Katrina Kaif make her first appearance at Cannes. Not surprisingly, she made quite an impact and made heads turn thanks to her cherubic looks. However, the Dhoom 3 star deliberately decided to underplay style statement and kept things quite simple.

Sonam Kapoor Makes a Mark: The fast-rising fashionista served as ambassador of a noted brand and walked the red carpet during the premiere of Inside Out. As expected she sported an amazing look and proved why she truly is a ‘Khoobsurat’ beauty. Interestingly, Cannes 2015 marked her 5th straight appearance at the event.

Masaan  Steals the Show: Neeraj Ghaywan’s maiden directorial venture Masaan premiered at Cannes 2015. And as expected this drama managed to leave audiences spell bound. As a result, it got a standing ovation. Moreover, it bagged the International Jury of Film Critics prize as well as the Promising Future prize in the Un Certain Regard section. Now that’s what we call making the country proud.

Nawaz’s Film Makes a Mark: Even though the versatile Nawazuddin Siddiqui could not attend Cannes 2015 because he was busy shooting for Bajrangi Bhaijaan, his production venture Miyaan Kal Aana was screened at the event. Directed by his brother Shams, the nearly 17-minute-long short dealt with the Halala law.

Mallika Mania Reigns Again: The bold and confident Mallika Sherawat stole the limelight  at cannes 2015 when she attended the attended the premier of Mad Max. Dressed in a Alexis Mabille creation she looked quite stunning  to say the least.
