The Friends reunion video is out and it unravels some great inside stories
After a long wait of more than a decade, the cast of everybody's favourite TV series Friends came together under one roof to make us nostalgic all over again. For a tribute dinner for the series director James Burrow, the cast of the popular sitcom came together for the much-awaited reunion and it is as awesome as it can be!
The clip features all the members of the Friends team, apart from Mathew Perry, who is busy with rehearsals for his playwriting debut in London. But the rest of the members —Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc didn’t let us complain for a longer time. They shared some of their best moments on the sets and we can’t stop gushing over it! Perry also joined the rest through a video and introduced his co-stars and friends in real life.
Though the video has given us more than what we expected, it was sad that it lasted only for some time. Friends debuted on TV screens in 1994 and with this Phoebe, Rachel, Monica, Ross, Chandler and Joey became household names.
Well, if you are thinking that the NBC’s Sunday-night special feature is about catching up with the characters of Friends. You are wrong! The show does not restrict itself to just a so-called, random reunion. Instead, it highlights some of the most awkward interactions of the five actors, who moved to different dimensions in life after the show ended its 10-season run.
Here are a few of the interesting things we learnt from the reunion
1. There was “no sex between co-stars” clause
2. The cast used to play poker in Burrow’s dressing room, as it was the biggest of all. Those poker sessions led to the creation of the episode The One with All the Poker
3. Kudrow, Aniston and Cox ate the same lunch every day for ten years. Something Cox called a “Jennifer salad.”
4. The cast watched the entire first season of the show together and used to give each other notes, which they now consider as suggestions
5. Aniston has a special corner for the flashbacks to “Fat Monica, Rachel pre-nose job and Ross with his afro.”
6. Aniston auditioned to play the neurotic Monica, while Cox auditioned to play the spoiled Rachel
