10 Controversies that Shocked Bollywood in 2015

If you thought that being a Bollywood star is easy and it just brings along fame, love and money then you need to rethink! Being a star brings with it, its own share of controversies! Freedom to speak freely becomes only a term and opinion is something that simply cannot be expressed. As the year is coming to an end, we list down the top 10 controversies of 2015 which shook our tinsel town!

1. Aamir Khan on Intolerance: 

Mr. Perfectionist invited flak from the common man when he made a remark on the ongoing intolerance debate in the Country. The actor was abused and trolled for making such remarks against the Nation.

2. Salman Khan on Yakub Menon: 

Salman Khan is considered a controversy's favourtie child! How much ever he tries, he can't escape from getting involved into a problem. Earlier in the year, the actor had tweeted against the government's decision of hanging Yakub Menon, who was involved in the 1993 Mumbai Bomb Blasts. His tweets invited wrath from people, landing him in trouble yet again.

3. Shah Rukh Khan on Intolerance: 

Before Aamir Khan spoke his heart and mind out over the Intolerance issue, it was Shah Rukh Khan who was embroiled in the Intolerance debate. The actor's comments on 'India being Intolerant' didn't go down well with the aam junta, who eventually made a huge hue and cry about it.

4. Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Karan Johar's AIB Roast: 

Earlier in the year, stand-up comedians from AIB organized a Roast hosted by Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Karan Johar. The trio made vulgar, adult jokes about many issues of Bollywood. While some thoroughly enjoyed the roast, many took offence to it. The matters worsened when a FIR was filed against the trio for obscenity.

5. Sooraj Pancholi-Jiah Khan Case: 

Nation went into a tizzy when CBI filed a charge sheet in the Jiah Khan suicide case of 2013. In the charge sheet, the CBI explained in detail how Sooraj was involved in abetment of Khan's suicide. Sooraj extricated Jiah's foetus and flushed it down the drain instead of taking her to the hospital, fearing that their relationship would become public.

6. Anushka Sharma-Virat Kohli backlash: 

Ever since Anushka and Virat have openly declared their relationship, people have been finding reasons to condemn Virat, who until sometime back wasn't in the best of his form. During one such crucial match, when Virat was expected to play the game, he got bowled out at 0 and what followed next was stupid and weird. Anushka was trolled on twitter for Virat's poor performance. Though later many came in support of both Virat and Anushka, the damage was done.

7. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan - Racism Advertisement:

Aishwarya invited a controversy earlier in the year when she shot for an advertisement for Kalyan Jewellers. In the ad, Ash was seen posing as the Princess and a black child was seen holding an umbrella for her. Many took offence to the fact that the actress promoted racism and child labour and also faced the wrath for it.

8. Anurag Kashyap-KRK on Bombay Velvet: 

Before Bombay Velvet tanked at the box office, the makers of the film were confident about their product. However, it was Kamal R. Khan who was continuously condemning the film and even got involved in an argument with the film's director Anurag Kashyap. The two exchanged few unpleasant sentences, making headlines!

9. FTII Controversy and Award Wapsi: 

When Gajendra Chauhan, who played Yudhishthir's role in popular television show Mahabharat, was appointed as the new FTII chairman, the decision didn't go down well with the students and filmmakers. They protested this decision and many filmmakers decided to return their National Awards.

10. Pahalaj Nihalani and Censorship Issues: 

The CBFC became the center of attraction when its chief Pahalj Nihalani issued a list of words which had to be beeped out when used in a film. He even axed intimate scenes in most of the films for which Nihalani was trolled for his actions on social media, especially after he edited the kissing scenes in Bond film.
