Rang Badlu! Stars who strongly denied affairs but went on to marry their "Alleged Lovers"

There are two kinds of Bollywood stars. 1 - whose life is an open book, 2 - who are very secretive.  The second category of stars have very smartly managed to keep their love affairs hidden from the ever so prying media. However, the rumours always surfaced and the stars always denied, that too very strongly. The relationship status of these stars got confirmed only when they tied the knot with these 'alleged lovers'. 

Well, to each his own. Stars are not entitled to open up about their personal relationships. However, it is interesting to see some of these stars lie through their teeth. Check out their videos and statements. On hindsight, they do seem hilarious, don't they?

Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra

In this 2011 interview, Rani is seen saying, "Fans love me so much that they want me to settle down. I am not sure why I am linked to Adi (chopra). Of course he is a friend. He is a person I have worked with in many films. I have great regard for Aditya Chopra. No, we are not romantically connected but yes I have a lot of regard for him. I want to work a lot with Chopras because they are absolutely stunning in the way they make their films.  (tee hee?)

Genelia and Riteish Deshmukh

Genelia and Riteish Deshmukh are one of the cutest and made-for-each-other couples of B-town. Recently they even got cuter after their adorable baby Riaan joined them in the family circle. However, even these two had denied their affair when they started dating. 

Genelia had said, "I'm very much single. Riteish is my friend. That's all. Actually I don't have time for romance in real life with anyone. It is all happening in reel life only. I've no idea where these rumours emerge from. Deshmukh is my close friend and we both are very busy in films. When we occasionally meet up, we normally speaking about our films and career".

Riteish also had denied it on his end.  Well, the rest is history as they say!

John Abraham and Priya Runchal

John Abraham had a very high profile romantic relationship with Bipasha Basu for many years. That is why all hell broke lose when they broke up. However, when John found love again, he was quite secretive about it. When rumours of the relationship emerged, John had said, "There is no Priya Marwah. She doesn't exist. At least not in my life."  A friend of John had also made a funny comment during the time, perhaps to mislead the media. He had said, "It's not the girl in the papers - Priya  - but someone else I've spotted visiting him often. She is taller, fairer..." Well, certainly a couple of WTF statements from these two!

Vidya Balan and Sidharth Roy Kapur

Though Vidya comes across as a very straight-forward person, she too had made some strong denials about her relationship with current husband and UTV scion Sidharth Roy Kapur. Vidya and Siddharth met each other on the sets of ‘No One Killed Jessica’. The two bonded and had a very good friendship which blossomed into love. The couple were spotted spending many a cozy moment by industry folk. However, Vidya denied the affair strongly as she said, "When I am in a relationship, I will admit it openly. Sidharth is no more than a friend." 

There were also rumours of a secret marriage, which were put to rest by the actual wedding nuptials that took place between the lovers shortly after. 

Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupathi

Lara Dutta was very open about her previous relationships, especially with Kelly who she lived in with, for a very long time. However, she was secretive about Mahesh, perhaps due to the sticky situation Mahesh was in. 

Mahesh was dealing with a messy separation with ex-wife Shweta Jayashankar at the time and therefore kept mum about the whole Lara issue. All's well that ends well for these two as they are now enjoying blissful matrimony.

Sridevi and Boney Kapoor

Sridevi and Boney Kapoor created quite a stir with their affair. Boney Kapoor was married to Mona at the time. However, there was no stopping the filmmaker and the actress who were madly in love. Understandably, Sridevi denied the affair initially. News also has it that Sri tied a rakhi to Boney to perhaps mislead others.

However, the two went on to tie the knot after Sri got pregnant. Full filmy this affair, eh?

Juhi Chawla and Jay Mehta

Juhi Chawla was at the peak of her career when she married Jay Mehta. Apparently, Juhi hid her marriage from the press and the public quite convincingly. 

Juhi was introduced to Jay by their common friend Rakesh Roshan. However, Jay was married at the time. Then, Jay's wife died in a freak plane crash. This got the actress closer to Jay as she was sympathetic and caring toward him during the time. Their relationship became stronger and they tied the knot. However, Juhi denied any link up with Jay and also hid her marriage from everyone. It was only later that the true facts of this relationship were revealed.
