2012- An eventful year for Kapoors
They have literally lived through the ups and downs of Hindi Cinema, thus, the title of ‘First Family of Indian Film Industry’ naturally comes to them. Yes, we indeed are talking about the Kapoors who came, saw and conquered forever.
Each generation of Kapoors, has always treasured the respect, their forebears have earned in the time span of last 80 years. This dynasty is indisputably league-apart and boasts off some brilliant actors, directors and producers. From Prithiviraj Kapoor to the latest Kapoor scion, Ranbir, the Kapoors have been consistent entertainers, who have enthralled the nation with their unique style and personalities.
The Kapoors have had very subtle approach towards stardom. No wonder, they have never gone out of their way to make their presence felt, like the other important families of Bollywood.
This year however, recalls a different story. It though began with Shammi Kapoor last year, when before bidding goodbye to the world, he made a small presence with his grandnephew Ranbir. One however, can’t deny that 2012 has been an eventful year for Kapoors.
The year began and Ranbir Kapoor swept all the prestigious awards in the Best Actor category for his outstanding performance in Rockstar. It was followed by nothing less than a miracle, when brothers Rishi and Randhir Kapoor shared the screen space in Sajid Khan’s Housefull 2. The duo treated the cine-goers with their some wonderful moments together on celluloid, which became the highlight of the film.
Ever-gorgeous Karisma Kapoor quenched the thirsts of millions of fans across, who were dying to get a glimpse of her on big screen. Her comeback vehicle Dangerous Ishq though bombed at the box-office, but an actor par excellence Karisma yet again garnered both critical and audience acclaim.
Kapoors were a surprise package at IIFA (13th International Indian Film Academy) too this year. They adorned the night as special guests and what followed further was a dream come true for their fans. A performance to remember by father-son Rishi-Ranbir, where Ranbir began with an electrifying act as a Rockstar and eventually, succumbed to Rishi’s unmatchable style and energy on stage as, he began dancing on the tunes of his famous songs ‘Bachna Ae Hasino’ from Hum Kisi Se Kam Nahi and Om Shanti Om song from Karz. The duo was indeed a treat to watch shaking legs together.
Meanwhile, the news of revival of prestigious the RK Studios too has hit the headlines. After repeated but failed attempts of Rishi and Rajeev Kapoor to get the production house on track, Ranbir has finally taken up the job to breathe life into their banner.
Like Karisma, it has been quite a thrilling year for Kareena as well. Heroine, which indisputably will become the turning point of her career is awaited with bated breath. Madhur Bhandarkar, has in the past worked wonders for female actors and Bebo too is all set to make new records this year.
Not just that, Kareena has got another reason to celebrate, which will give a perfect end to this eventful year that Kapoors will surely cherish forever. Yes, Ms. Kapoor will turn Mrs. Saif Ali Khan at the end of this year as the couple is slated to tie knot by November.
