Today it's exactly 15 years since the amazing and versatile power house actress Priyanka Chopra started her career. On this day, exactly 15 years ago, Priyanka won the Miss World title at the tender age of just 18.

Priyanka started her career as a 17 year old applying for the Femina Miss India competition. Since then her career has taken leaps and she has come a long way.

Let's all have a look at how these 15 years have gone by!

Priyanka made like many other actresses her debut down South with Thamizhan. One thing that many don't know is that she actually sung in her debut in the song ''Ullathai Killathe''. Her first Bollywood project was the super hit Andaaz for which she won the Filmfare For Best Female Debut. Although she signed The Hero later, the movie actually released before Andaaz that same year.

Initially Priyanka was seen in mainly glamorous roles and songs. Given her background as a Miss World this seemed appropriate at that time in Bollywood. However, Priyanka took drastic measures when she went agains everyone and sigend a negative role in Aitraaz. Not only was she paired opposite another actress, she was actually playing a vamp. Comments like ''you will always be a vamp from now on'' and ''this is career suicide'' came her way, but she insisted and took the role of Mrs. Sonia Roy on. That was also when Priyanka won her second Filmfare, The FilmFare Award For Best Performance In A Negative Role.

After this there was no looking back. Priyanka quickly got signed for big projects by big production companies for commercial movies like: Krrish, Don and Dostana. Her box office success was unparralleled and many raised their eyebrows when she decided to take on Fashion when she was doing so well commercially. Fashion came to her when she was just three years in the industry and she rejected the movie that time twice because she thought she couldn't do justice to it. Fashion, a female oriented movie about the ins and outs of the Fashion industry won her her third Filmfare, The Filmfare Award For Best Actress and also The National Film Award For Best Actress.

She followed this up with her short yet critically acclaimed role in Kaminey followed by 7 Khoon Maaf for which she won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best actress. Priyanka made it clear that she tries to balance commercial cinema with her critically acclaimed work. Blockbusters Don 2 and Agneepath were followed by Barfi which was both a huge commercial and critical hit. For her portrayel of the autistic 'Jhilmil' she got many praises, although she didn't win the Filmfare award that year. Priyanka had expressed she would have loved winning the award but was not too fazed about it while others in the industry like Anushka Sharma voiced their opinion saying they couldn't believe Priyanka's portrayel of Jhilmil was not awarded.

Her most recent movies have all been hits, be it Krrish 3, Gunday, or Dil Dhadakne Do. For Mary Kom which won also a National Award, she went through excruciating lengths to transform her body into that of a boxer. She also sung the song ''Chaoro'' for the film. Bajirao Mastani would be her fifth hit in a row!

It was also when Priyanka started exploring her options in other areas than just acting. She set up a production house 'Purple pebbles' and made a successful transition as a music artist. She made successful singles with big stars like Will.i.am and Pittbul and also did the voice over for Disney's Planes.

Priyanka has endorsed iconic brands that are famous worldwide, including Beats By Dre, NFL and Guess where she was the first ethnic girl ever to be asked to endorse their collection.

Priyanka is also an advocate of a cleaner and safer India, girl education and works since 2010 as a National Brand Ambassador for Unicef.

Right now she is seen in the worldwide ABC hit show Quantico which has catapulted her fame to the world stage. Be it the US, Brazil or Australia, Quantico got a worldwide release mainly because of Priyanka's achievements in Bollywood. Priyanka proves that she is an incredible actor whit each new role she takes on and continues to be one of the most versatile modern actresses we have today. Quantico airs every Saturday on Star World and every Sunday on ABC.
