Ranveer Singh on getting married in Italy: Whatever Deepika Padukone wished, I wanted her to have it
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh got married on November 14 and 15 in Italy. Ranveer Singh talked about their destination wedding in an interview.
Love blossomed between newlyweds Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone six years ago on the sets of their first film together, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon Ki Raas Leela, Ram Leela in 2012. The couple’s relationship culminated into marriage. After months of speculation, the couple announced their wedding date in October and tied the knot in November at Lake Como in Italy. The couple got married at Villa Del Balbianello and the pre-wedding festivities were held at CastaDiva resort.
Ranveer Singh is the cover star of Filmfare magazine for the month of December. The actor talks about his relationship with Deepika Padukone and their destination wedding in the interview with the magazine. When asked about choosing Lake Como as the destination for their wedding, Ranveer said, “Whatever she wished, I wanted her to have it. That’s the first step in being the husband of the millennium. Whatever her vision of getting married, I wanted her to realise it. Whatever she wanted, it was done exactly in that manner. She deserves every bit of it. I too deserve happiness and my happiness comes from her happiness. It’s that simple.”
In the interview Ranveer Singh also said that he has been thinking of marriage since 3 years now, but was waiting for Deepika Padukone to be ready. He also said that he knew six months into the relationship that he wanted to spend his life with Deepika.
Before Ranveer and Deepika, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli got married in Tuscany, Italy in December last year. Rani Mukerji and Aditya Chopra also tied the knot in Italy.
