EXCLUSIVE: Deepika Padukone Ranveer Singh wedding: Here's how Deepika's family welcomed Bhavnani baarat
Groom Ranveer Singh and his baarat received a grand welcome from Deepika's family. Here's what happened.
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh tied the knot on November 14 and 15 following both, Konkani and Sindhi traditions on each day. While the two were dressed in traditional attire for each day, the rituals too, were nothing short of being perfect. Right from the ornaments, and the lunch that followed, to how Deepika made her walk up to the mandap, everything abided the traditional ceremonies that were to be followed for each of the occasions.
We have now learned that post the Sindhi wedding that happened on November 15, 2018, Deepika Padukone's family gave a traditional Sikh welcome to Ranveer Singh's Baarat. And well, we can only imagine what a joyous event that would have been. Traditionally, the Baarat is where the groom travels to the bride's place on a mare ((a boat in case of Ranveer), and the family members accompany him with songs and Bhangra playing alongside.
The Baarat then receives a welcome by the bride's family right at the entrance, and along with the hymns sung in the name of the Gods, the Baarat is also presented wit a garland followed by a hug. This part of the ritual, after the Baarat is called the Milni, mostly including the males, and headed by a priest. Meanwhile, Ranveer's residence in Mumbai has been decorated with lights and all over as their return to the city is awaited.
While it definitely sounds like an ideal welcome for the Baarat, Ranveer's picture from the boat with his Baarati also came in yesterday evening and it seemed just as perfect too. Newlyweds Deepika and Ranveer are expected to return to the country on November 18, 2018, following which they will be hosting a reception - one in Bengaluru and two of them here in Mumbai.
The couple will also have a brief honeymoon as Ranveer will then have to get to work for the promotion of his upcoming film, Simmba followed by his other work commitments. Simmba will hit the big screens on December 28, 2018.
Meanwhile, we just can't stop gushing over their pictures already, can we?
