Deepika Padukone Ranveer Singh wedding: When Ranveer Singh said he and Deepika have a divine connection
Ahead of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's wedding, we dug deep into the archives only to find a throwback interview of Ranveer where he is talking about his ‘divine connection’ with Deepika. Read details.
After months of speculations, the time has finally come when the world will witness Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh walk down the aisle in Lake Como, Italy. Yes, thanks to the actors, who made an official announcement on their social media accounts and saved us the unnecessary effort of digging deep to figure out their wedding deets. November 14 and 15 are their official wedding dates and while we wait for Deepika-Ranveer to tie the knot, we got our hands on a major throwback interview where this Bajirao is talking about his Mastani and we are only gushing.
In a 2015 interview with India Today, Ranveer Singh opened up about his relationship with Deepika Padukone and said that there is some sort of a divine connection that they share. “I have no idea. It's some sort of divine connection... I can't, I can't explain it in words. I really can't. This is one question that I'm often asked, and I really have no explanation for it. It's divinity,” Ranveer Singh had said.
Besides their relationship, what has always caught our attention is their respect for each other’s work and talking about Deepika, Ranveer Singh had said that back in 2015, Deepika is going through a golden phase as an actor and that he is privileged to work with her. “I recognise the fact that she's going through a golden phase as an actor. She's given one solid performance after the other, starting with Lafangey Parinde, Break Ke Baad. I find her growth... her rapid growth had started since then. One power-packed performance after the other. It's my privilege that I get to work with her twice during this phase, in Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani," said Ranveer.
But when we see their romance on the 70mm screen in say, Ram Leela or Bajirao Mastani, Ranveer-Deepika both light up the screen and Ranveer credits their onscreen chemistry to Deepika. “I trust her immensely, I know that she's one of the most generous actors that I've ever worked with. I know that I can surrender to her in a scene... just connect with her, be present with her, look into her eyes and really mean what I'm saying. She's an incredible performer. She inspires me as a performer and I admire her tremendously as a person and an individual," said the 33-year-old actor.
For all those who don’t know, Deepika and Ranveer started dating on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram-Leela. Since then, the two have worked together in films like Bajirao Mastani (2015) and Padmaavat (2018). After courting each other for almost six years, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh will get married on November 14 and 15 in Italy, and the couple left for Itay a few days back with their respective families. After their wedding, the duo will be hosting two receptions- one in Bengaluru and one in Mumbai. The one in Bengaluru is on November 21 at The Leela Palace and the one in Mumbai is on November 28 at Grand Hyatt.
