It was 6 years ago when movie maestro Sanjay Leela Bhansali cast Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in his ambitious project, Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013). The onscreen chemistry proved to be magical on the silver screen and DeepVeer fans could not get enough of the pair. With such a tantalising chemistry, romance sparks were bound to erupt in real-life too. As they say, the rest is history! After three superhit Bhansali movies, Deepika and Ranveer have decided to have their happy ending in real-life and are getting hitched, this week.
Between the dates of November 14-15, 2018, the couple will unite in holy matrimony at Lake Como, Italy. A few weeks ago, DeepVeer issued a simple and sweet statement announcing their upcoming nuptials. The private wedding ceremony will be followed by two receptions - one in Deepika's hometown Bengaluru and one in Mumbai, which will be attended by their Bollywood friends. Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013)
This 2013 Bhansali directorial was the perfect masala entertainer that made bonafide leading stars out of Deepika and Ranveer. Who can forget the sizzling sexiness of Ang Laga De or even the heartbreaking ode of Laal Ishq as DeepVeer poured their heart and soul to this desi Romeo and Juliet love affair? The domestic box office collection of Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela stood at Rs 113 crore while the worldwide box office collection was Rs 202 crore.
Bajirao Mastani (2015)
Along with Priyanka Chopra, one couldn't stop Bajirao and his Mastani from shattering the box office records. The trio deserved every praise and accolades that came their way and DeepVeer's insane chemistry was just cherry on top of the cake. The domestic box office collection of Bajirao Mastani stood at Rs 184 crore while the worldwide box office collection was Rs 358 crore.
Padmaavat (2018)
While Deepika and Ranveer did not share a single scene in the entirety of Padmaavat, their performances were a masterpiece, in the making. Whether it be the royal avatar of Deepika as Rani Padmini or the demonic antagonist of Ranveer as Alauddin Khilji (along with Shahid Kapoor) Padmaavat was already a superhit before it even released. The domestic box office collection of Padmaavat stood at Rs 301 crore while the worldwide box office collection was Rs 565 crore.
