Deepika Padukone Ranveer Singh wedding: Farah Khan gives the most thoughtful gift to the couple

Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh invited only their close-knit circle to their wedding. The couple wed yesterday according to the traditional Konkani ceremony at Villa Del Balbianello at Lake Como. The couple left for Italy with Ranveer Singh’s family on November 10, 2018. Before they left, on Diwali, the couple met Farah Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Deepika debuted in the industry with Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om starring Shah Rukh Khan as the male lead. The couple has worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in three films- Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani and Goliyon Ki Raas Leela- Ram Leela. They went to meet them to seek their blessings before their big day!

Farah Khan gave the couple the most thoughtful gift on the day they visited her before heading to Italy. She gifted them personalized hand impressions of themselves. Farah Khan surprised them with this idea and had called casting artist Bhavna Jasra at her residence. Talking about the idea, she told Times of India that Farah Khan called her as she wanted her to make a special wedding gift for Deepika and Ranveer. She surprised them by hiding her in another room, Bhavna said.

She said, “Farah then told them that she has organized a surprise gift for their wedding and called out my name to do the honours. They greeted me with happy smiles and on knowing what the surprise was, they gleamed with joy.”

The couple’s cast is of their hands together in a tight clasp, signifying their bond as a couple. Deepika and Ranveer have decided not to accept any gifts and guests have been requested to donate to Deepika’s charity.
