The two have been making the headlines since 2012 when they began shooting for their first film till date, when they just have took off to Italy for their wedding ceremony. It’s been 6 years that the two have been in love with each other. However, they never really officially opened up about their relationship till the wedding announcement on October 21, 2018.
Deepika and Ranveer have always given us couple goals with their love for each other and their funny banter with each other. Ranveer Singh’s ability to make Deepika laugh and Deepika trying to match up to Ranveer Singh’s energy is what makes them absolutely perfect for each other. A journey of a lifetime began with the first step in year 2012:
The two first started working together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Goliyon ki Rasleela, Ram-Leela. Sparks started flying while they were on set and their fans wanted to know if they were together or not. However, the couple decided to keep their relationship under the wraps. But, their love blossomed even more while they stayed away from the limelight. While the movie went on to be a super hit, 4 years after the release, Ranveer Singh commented on a photo on Instagram saying, “Don’t we look great together?” This is what added fuel to the fire.
DeepVeer bonded by togetherness in 2013:
While Deepika stayed away from her family, Ranveer Singh made sure she wasn’t alone by visiting her sets quite often. This resulted in Ranveer Singh becoming a part of Deepika’s movie Finding Fanny as her on screen husband. Their love grew stronger post this stint together in films.
A dance performance in 2014 and DeepVeer’s love story was evident:
Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh performed together on their popular tracks during the Zee Cine awards and their bond was evident. From Deepika’s smile to Ranveer’s body language, everything pointed towards their sizzling yet adorable chemistry. Every time media asked either one of them about each other, they expressed respect and love for each other. Even though, they kept denying rumours of their relationship, the mere mention of their names to each other lit up their faces with joy.
Karan Johar’s party played cupid in 2015:
One of the events organised by Karan Johar saw both Deepika and Ranveer together. When Deepika was leaving the party, Ranveer Singh was seen following her with a rose in his hand. This definitely caught the eye of the paparazzi and definitely added more fuel to the relationship rumours.
More public appearances together in 2016:
From accompanying each other to award ceremonies like IIFA to parties and get-togethers by friends, Deepika and Ranveer were hooked to each other. In one of the parties, they were seen holding each others hand and Ranveer accompanied Deepika late at night, which pointed to the obvious affair.
Deepika Padukone goes global and Ranveer turns supportive in 2017:
It was the year in which Deepika took up her project opposite Vin Diesel titled xXx: Return of Xander Cage. She was among new people and Ranveer took it up upon himself to lend support to her morally. He acted as the dutiful boyfriend and praised the actress and her work. When the movie released in India, he was there with the actress throughout and didn’t let her feel alone. These gestures by Ranveer Singh helped strengthen the bond between the two.
2018 and the official wedding announcement:
Their families started meeting each other and Deepika was seen shopping with Ranveer’s family which sparked the rumours of their wedding happening soon. The couple’s holiday in Maldives also added more fuel to their relationship rumours. Putting an end to the all the rumours of their relationship and their wedding, the couple released a joint statement on October 21, 2018 stating that they are getting married with the blessings of their families on November 14-15.
