Dear Oppa: A fan from Bangladesh REVEALS why she will forever cherish Park Seo Joon's Itaewon Class character

If you're a fan of K-dramas, then you'll definitely have an Oppa, who is your personal bias. For many, it would undoubtedly be Park Seo-joon, who has made us fall hard for him, thanks to his impressive acting talent and ultra handsome looks. From What's Wrong with Secretary Kim and Fight for My Way to Itaewon Class, Seo-joon has truly shown his versatility as a performer.

Today's heartwarming letter has been penned by Tahtheera Sultana from Bangladesh to Seo-joon. In her letter, Tahtheera showered praises upon the 32-year-old actor's impeccable performance as Park Sae-ro-yi in Itaewon Class gushing about how the character taught her to never give up. Read her letter below:

Dear Oppa,

Oppa, Itaewon Class was the very first k-drama I ever watched. I’ve seen you in many other dramas after that, but, for me, you’ll always be Park Sae-Ro-Yi of Danbam. No one can rock the chestnut haircut like you. He was someone I could love, trust and relate to. Sae-Ro-Yi gave me hope, a new perspective for my own future and most importantly he taught me that you should never give up. He saved me.

Sae-Ro-Yi made me believe in a lot of things. He proved that hard work and dedication is no less than a miracle. Moreover, he proved that you don’t need a degree to be successful. The pain he felt when he lost his father was undoubtedly, something I felt when I lost my own father. Sae-Ro-Yi made me laugh and cry at the same time. When he stood against what is wrong, didn’t back down regardless of the consequences, I believe he truly deserved a standing ovation.

Growing thick skin is necessary in our world, and it’s a no-brainer that Sae-Ro-Yi proves it better than anyone. He taught me that just because someone is rich, powerful and oppressive, you don’t have to bow down to him. His courage inspires me to stand up for myself, to this day. Oppa, whenever I see you on screen I am mesmerised but, I can’t help but imagine Sae-Ro-Yi every time, after all, he was the one who made me fall in love with you. I’ll definitely give credit to your outstanding acting abilities of course.

I’ve learned a lot from him, things that I’ll use in my life, that includes being incredibly patient, silently hustling, teamwork, trust, love, hard work and most importantly, dedication. Sae-Ro-Yi made me believe that success, after all, can be the best revenge. He never let anyone undermine his potential. Just like him, the loss of my father was a turning point in my life. I may have started to give up until I found Sae-Ro-Yi. Life can be a rollercoaster, but losing hope and giving up is not an option. Sae-Ro-Yi proved that bullying and injustice will never overpower the truth. I want to be like him, I want to live my life on my own terms, on my own principles.

Thank you, for playing a character that I’ll forever cherish. Saranghae my dear Oppa. Sending you all the love from Bangladesh.

Yours Truly,
A hopeful 20-year-old,
Tahtheera Sultana.
