Park Jihyo has a huge fanbase, and rightfully so! The singer, after 10 years of training at K-pop powerhouse JYP Entertainment, Jihyo made her debut as the lead singer of Twice in 2015. Despite not being the oldest performer competing on Sixteen, Jihyo was selected by her bandmates as the leader of Twice once the line-up was finalised. Jihyo accomplished her dream by winning her very first number one on a music show with a song called “Cheer Up!” on May 5, 2016. Not only getting their first win, Jihyo and the girls succeed in getting 11 more wins with the cheerful song, “Cheer Up!” Today's sweet letter in the Dear Eonni series has been penned by Swetha Narayanan from India to her idol Park Jihyo!

dear eonni,

i'm a 17 year old from India, who absolutely loves music. It has always served a huge part of my life in making me happy and stress free during the most pressing times. not to mention, my interest in wanting to be big in the music industry and inspire my audience, like you. However, I don't have the looks. no matter how good i sound when i sing, the moment i look in the mirror my smile fades. it never feels nice to know that even if i did have an opportunity, i'd be bashed and picked on because of the beauty standards.

but that's when i came across the song "FANCY". to be honest, i really admired all of you at the first moment, the amazing talent and the breathtaking beauty. and that's where my journey as an once began.

you inspire me, Park Jihyo. you inspire me to forget my insecurities and to stand strong no matter what life throws at you. you taught me that our looks are no match for our talent and determination for attaining our dream. you make me confident and bold. you give me hope, and give me assurance that i can make it if i want to and others don't decide it for me. your powerful and heart shaking vocals console me when i'm not feeling myself. you make me feel special.

you had it hard when making it twice but you never gave up. and i will not too. you were Seautiful then and you are even more beautiful in my eyes now. thank you for everything. Thank you for your determination and strength. Thank you for your love. once again thank you leader.
