BTS: V has a heartwarming reason as to why he had Jungkook in his mind while recording Magic Shop
BTS members dissected their albums in a recent interview including Love Yourself: Tear as Jungkook spoke candidly about Magic Shop, which was his dedication to BTS ARMY.
BTS members sat down for a detailed interview with Pitchfork recently where they shed light on their albums; from the songs to the artwork. They started off by talking about Dark & Wild, their debut studio album and went up til Map of the Soul: 7 while also speaking about the thought process behind their Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single Dynamite.
While talking about their 2018 album Love Yourself: Tear, Jungkook shed light on Magic Shop; which he took part in the producing of, as a dedication to BTS ARMY. "When ARMY are tired, emotionally exhausted and having a rough time they can draw a door within their hearts and come inside... and we're there," Kookie gushed while noting how they've held fan meets like this. Praising how beautiful the lyrics of Magic Shop is, The Golden Maknae confessed that the song is about letting ARMY know that BTS will be there and be the strength for them when they feel down. Jungkook also revealed how Magic Shop is also based on what RM told ARMY during their fan meets and concerts about how ARMY can use BTS.
Jimin then admitted how the septet had a really rough time while working on Love Yourself: Tear, emotionally. Jin confessed that the members cried while making the album as Kookie added, "I was on the makeup chair once and listening to Love Yourself: Tear. I did cry, mid-session."
V further disclosed how when they recorded Magic Shop, he thought of Jungkook a lot. As the members laughed, Taehyung explained to Pitchfork, "Yeah, I remember, our producer asked: 'Jungkook, anything going on in life that's maybe giving you a tough time?' And he said, 'It's hardest for me when the other guys are having a hard time.' I mean, what a phrase. And I thought about it a lot. So when I recorded Magic Shop, I thought about Jungkook and felt what he must've." Jungkook's happy expression was too adorable to his TaeTae hyung's kind words.
Years later, Magic Shop still tugs at our heartstrings!
