The news of Brian Lara being hospitalised due to chest pain caused distressed among his fans around the globe. However, the former West Indies player confirms that he is fine which led to a sigh of relief for numerous people.

Brian Lara is currently in India as an expert for the official broadcasters of the on-going cricket world cup. He was admitted in a city hospital after he felt uneasy post the extended workout session.

In an audio message posted by ‘Cricket West Indies’ Lara he said that he is aware that everyone is concerned about what is happening. “I think maybe I just extended myself a bit too much in the gym this morning," he said in the message. "I was feeling a bit of pain in my chest so I felt it was best to see a doctor and I was taken to the hospital. Pain continued so obviously a lot of tests have been done.”

The stalwart cricketer also mentioned that whilst he is in the hospital, he is enjoying watching the encounter between England vs Australia in his hospital bed. He expressed his support for the Aussies and said that, “Hopefully Australia can restrict England and beat them – not a big fan of England.”

He said that he is going to be alright and also mentioned that he is going to switch off his phone right now as it is going non-stop. However, he added that he wouldn’t really like to switch it off as he would like to talk to his family.

He added that there are just a couple of tests and the doctors are quite happy as there is nothing major. “Just letting everyone know I am fine and recovering and I'll be back in my hotel room tomorrow.” Lara said.
