Vicky Kaushal starrer Uri: The Surgical Strike is all set to release tomorrow. The film is one of the much awaited releases of 2019. Its an action thriller film based on true incidents which along with Vicky also stars Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina and Yami Gautam. Directed by Aditya Dhar, Uri is based on the 2016 surgical strike by Indian Army on Pakistan Administered Kashmir which was a retaliation for the Uri Attacks of September 2016.
Along with Uri: The Surgical Strike, another film is all set of release on January 11 - The Accidental Prime Minister. So, how much will this Vicky starrer earn on its first day? Pinkvilla got in touch with trade analyst Girish Johar to get the figures of Uri: The Surgical Strike's day 1 box office prediction. Girish told Pinkvilla, "Uri, the trailer has obviously got a fantastic response and it has generated a lot of curiosity. But again at the end of the day, it is a top metro kind of a film, more on the basis of action."
He added, "Since it has action and it is based on true incidents, it will have a wider audience along with a wider reach. Depending upon the word of mouth till the evening, I predict it should open somewhere around 4-5 crores on its day 1."
The film has opened to good response from the critics who saw the film during the special screening.
