The year 2019 started with a big release at the box office - Uri: The Surgical Strike. Starring Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam, the film is based on the real incidents of the Uri attack and surgical strike of September 2016. Directed by debutant director Aditya Dhar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, the film also stars Paresh Rawal, Kirti Kulhani and Mohit Raina.
Uri: The Surgical Strike released on January 11, 2019. The film opened to mixed reviews from the critics but the audience has given an immensely positive response to this Vicky Kaushal starrer. The theatres have been houseful from the past few days. As Indian army, Vicky and Mohit have left the audience impressed with their powerful performances. On its first day, the film made a collection of Rs 8.25 crore at the domestic market. As reported by Box Office India, on its second weekend, the war film has collected Rs 90.50 crores at the box office.
Well, looks like the film will soon enter the 100 crore club.
Uri: The Surgical Strike released alongside Anupam Kher starrer The Accidental Prime Minister. However, seems like Uri has won the race.
Not just the audience, even Bollywood celebrities are in awe of this Vicky Kaushal starrer. A lot of celebrities have given shoutout to the film and Vicky has given yet another phenomenal performance.
