The film also stars Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina and Kirti Kulhari. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “And #Uri crosses ₹ 100 cr... Sure, ₹ 100 cr is *not* the yardstick to gauge the success of a film, but it should be celebrated when mid-sized films like #SKTKS, #Raazi, #Stree, #BadhaaiHo and #UriTheSurgicalStrike hit century... Content is king and the audiences are king makers!”
The movie had opened on a good note with Rs 8.20 crores on its opening day. Uri: The Surgical Strike is based on the surgical strikes carried out by the Indian Army on seven terrorist launchpads across the Line of Control on September 29, 2016, in retaliation to a terrorist attack on an army camp at Uri, Kashmir. The film has surpassed the collections of Vijay Ratnakar Gutte's The Accidental Prime Minister, which is based on the life of former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh at the box office.
