Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan’s Thugs of Hindostan has got the tag of a flop this year. It failed to draw the audience to the theatres. Fans weren’t much convinced with the plot of the story and the film was criticized on the social media. Aamir has a huge fan following in China, but still, the movie didn’t create any impact on the Chinese audience. It fell flat on its face. The movie, which released in China almost a month after in India, earned only Rs 10 crore at the Chinese box office on its first day.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the box office figures. He wrote, “#ThugsOfHindostan falls flat in #China... Shows no significant growth in numbers on Day 2 [Sat]... Also, slips to No 6 position on Day 2 [started at No 4 on Day 1]…Fri $ 1.51 mn Sat $ 1.56 mn Total: $ 3.10 mn [₹ 21.65 cr] Total includes previews held earlier #TOH.”

Talking of India’s collection, TOH earned a record-breaking Rs 52.25 crore on day one but the film’s collection got weaker with each passing day. Considered as Yash Raj Films’ biggest project, Thugs of Hindostan has managed to rake in Rs 150.32 crore at the box office.

Talking about Thugs of Hindostan’s debacle at the box office, Aamir said he would like to take full the responsibility for that. He added that people can be sure that they tried their level best. There are people who have liked the film a lot and we would like to thank them. They are happy that they liked the film but that’s a minority. He said he wants to apologize to the viewers who came to watch his film in the theatres as he was not able to entertain them despite trying his best.

The film also stars Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in the lead roles.
