Sui Dhaaga Box Office Collection: Anushka Sharma & Varun Dhawan starrer holds a STRONG position in 1st week
Varun Dhawan-Anushka Sharma starrer Sui Dhaaga hit screens on September 28 and the film has been rock steady at the box office. Take a look at the first week box office collection.
Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma's Sui Dhaaga: Made In India has won hearts and box office numbers are a big proof of it. Directed by Sharat Katariya, the film tells the story of Mauji (Varun Dhawan) and his wife Mamta (Anushka Sharma). Mauji is ill-treated by his bosses and Mamta can't see this humiliation. Mamta encourages him to start his own business and thus begins the journey towards self-reliance. Sui Dhaaga opened to good reviews. Varun and Anushka's simplicity and the story of love and hard work impressed the critics as well as the audience.
Noted film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter and shared the week one Box Office collections of the movie. He wrote: "#SuiDhaaga has a SOLID Week 1... Witnessed strong trending from Day 1 to Day 5 [national holiday], but slipped on Day 6 and Day 7... Weekend 2 is crucial... Fri 8.30 cr, Sat 12.25 cr, Sun 16.05 cr, Mon 7 cr, Tue 11.75 cr, Wed 3.80 cr, Thu 3.35 cr. Total: ₹ 62.50 cr. India biz." The film has also crossed the 100-crore mark worldwide.

This film is Varun and Anushka's first-ever collaboration and is based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Make In India campaign. With Sui Dhaaga, Varun Dhawan again proved why he is the most bankable actor in the industry. This is his 11th hit in a row. Sui Dhaaga: Made in India is Varun's second release this year. His film October released in April and even that film was critically acclaimed and was loved by the audience.
The Varun and Anushka-starrer had a stronger buzz surrounding it and released in 2500 screens across the country. In a recent interview with IANS, Anushka Sharma shared that she would have been hurt had Sui Dhaaga – Made in India or her role not got the appreciation it has received. Produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by Sharat Katariya, the movie has been given a thumbs by the critcs too.
